1.What are the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur?
Before I discuss the factors that contributed to the success and failure of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur, I will define first what is technopreneur. Technopreneur is an entrepreneur involved with high technology.
After I watched this movie, “Pirate of Silicon Valley”, I can say that Steve Jobs is always taking a risk whatever things may come. He has the guts in doing things and he is smart person. While Bill Gates is a wise man.
Gates is portrayed as obsessed and impossibly nerdy. Despite of the negative attitude of Steve Jobs to his team ,he still managed in handling his company in a great job. They are difficult to work with and inflexible because it is their way or the highway. Job should put trust to his members, he should give them enough time and also time for their rest hours. I know that their job is hard but Job should think that they are all humans, they need rest. Because as I saw in the movie, when he saw one of his team is sleeping, he turn off the plug and his employee did not save the program that he is working at. And it's a big mistake that he had done.
The factors that contributed to the success of Steve Jobs as a technopreneur are the following:
Self-confidence: is extremely important in almost every aspect of our lives, yet so many people struggle to find it. Good thing about Steve Jobs is he has the courage to do things that may put him down. He is not afraid of what will happens. Because people who lack self-confidence can find it difficult to become successful, unlike Steve Jobs. He do what he believes to be right, even if others mock or criticize him. This is the confidence that we learn and work hard in a particular area, we'll succeed; and it's this type of confidence that leads people to accept difficult challenges, and persist in the face of setbacks. Entrepreneurs must demonstrate extreme self-confidence in order to cope with all the risks of operating their own business.
Hard-working: Job is an hard-working man. We can see that in the movie, he always do his job and always monitor his teams. And he always accepts challenges. The nice thing about hard work is that it’s universal. It doesn’t matter what industry you’re in — hard work can be used to achieve positive long-term results. When you discipline yourself to do what is hard, you gain access to a realm of results that are denied everyone else. The willingness to do what is difficult is like having a key to a special private treasure room.
Goal oriented: He is a goal-oriented because whenever he thinks that there is something that needs to be changed. The entrepreneur doesn’t understand and won’t accept that employees don’t always share the same drive and aren’t willing to live
Leadership: a range of possible outcomes – the achievement of goals, but also the commitment of individuals to such goals, the enhancement of group cohesion and the reinforcement of change of organizational culture. Steve Jobs discover emerging business opportunities and empower employee to act on the vision. Heexecute through inspiration and develop implementation capacity.
Determination: Job act of making or arriving at a decision. His determination showed in his every movement. He is a man of purpose. He decides or controls some thing's outcome or nature.
Open-minded: Job is willing to revise his mental models and forecasts because of the uncertain nature of their markets and their limited initial planning. Job is a quick entrepreneur. He know that windows of opportunity will open and close swiftly.
Focus: make strategic decisions about the nature of his business. He knows how to balance diligence with their bias actions.
All that factors mentioned above are the things that brought him to be a successful entrepreneur. But if we talk about the attitude of Job, I don't know if he already had all the factors. Sometimes Job had no discipline with himself. Successful entrepreneurs have the ability to think quickly and make a wise decision. On the roller coaster to business success the entrepreneur often copes by focusing on the end result and not the process of getting there. But when that self-confidence steps over the boundary into arrogance, there could be some negative consequences. Arrogant people don’t consider anyone else's ideas to have value – they know best. Entrepreneurs have to be their own biggest fan because they are often working alone or with only a small group of people. Self confidence can actually be a triple-edged sword.
Steve Jobs are highly motivated, goal-oriented, high-energy, super-focused, visionary, driven, self-confident people who set high standards for themselves and for those who work for them. But he also be intolerant of minor mistakes, have over-inflated egos, unwilling to consider someone else’s point of view, and unable to develop and maintain solid interpersonal relationships. The very characteristics that can lead to Jobs success, might also lead him to failure. And another factor that Steve Job fails is that he puts his trust to Bill Gates.
Partly, this comes from a feeling that the people around us approve of us, which we may or may not be able to control. However, it also comes from the sense that we are behaving virtuously, that we're competent at what we do, and that we can compete successfully when we put our minds to it.

2. How do you see yourself as a technopreneur?
Wow! Watta question. Me? As a technopreneur?.. hmmm well being inlvolve in a business is not that easy. Successful entrepreneurs need to see success.
Technopreneurship is the key to earn money through technology.
In business and technopreneur, just like in any aspect of life, those who are inspired are among the successful lot.
If you don’t plan extensively about your new idea or concept, without thinking ahead, you might encounter unforeseen difficulties with management or cashflow. You should think what should be your product, how does it differ from other products and how will it make you become successful, who your audience is, what money you need to spend in terms of product cost, advertising, shipping, staff, and so on and what profits you are hoping to make.
Discipline is also the key in this field, as an entrepreneur must work hard in order to achieve. Entrepreneurs also need to manage their time properly. There’s no point in spending a whole day over a task, when in reality it will be cheaper and more effective to hire someone to help you with a certain task, thus enabling you to produce more profit.
Being an technopreneur is about more than just starting a business or two, it is about having attitude and the drive to succeed in business. All successful Entrepreneurs have a similar way of thinking and posses several key personal qualities that make them so successful in business. Successful entrepreneurs like the ambitious Richard Branson have an inner drive to succeed and grow their business, rather than having a Harvard Business degree or technical knowledge in a particular field.
All successful entrepreneurs have the following qualities:
Inner Drive to Succeed
Entrepreneurs are driven to succeed and expand their business. They see the bigger picture and are often very ambitious. Entrepreneurs set massive goals for themselves and stay committed to achieving them regardless of the obstacles that get in the way.
Strong Belief in themselves
Successful entrepreneurs have a healthy opinion of themselves and often have a strong and assertive personality. They are focused and determined to achieve their goals and believe completely in their ability to achieve them. Their self optimism can often been seen by others as flamboyance or arrogance but entrepreneurs are just too focused to spend too much time thinking about un-constructive criticism.
Search for New Ideas and Innovation
All entrepreneurs have a passionate desire to do things better and to improve their products or service. They are constantly looking for ways to improve. They're creative, innovative and resourceful.
Openness to Change
If something is not working for them they simply change. Entrepreneurs know the importance of keeping on top of their industry and the only way to being number one is to evolve and change with the times. They're up to date with the latest technology or service techniques and are always ready to change if they see a new opportunity arise.
Competitive by Nature
Successful entrepreneurs thrive on competition. The only way to reach their goals and live up to their self imposed high standards is to compete with other successful businesses.
Highly Motivated and Energetic
Entrepreneurs are always on the move, full of energy and highly motivated. They are driven to succeed and have an abundance of self motivation. The high standards and ambition of many entrepreneurs demand that they have to be motivated!
Accepting of Constructive Criticism and Rejection
Innovative entrepreneurs are often at the forefront of their industry so they hear the words "it can't be done" quite a bit. They readjust their path if the criticism is constructive and useful to their overall plan, otherwise they will simply disregard the comments as pessimism. Also, the best entrepreneurs know that rejection and obstacles are a part of any leading business and they deal with them appropriately.
Accepting and Offering Help -Many people have a hard time asking others for help. They confuse accepting help from others with weakness. This couldn’t be farther from reality. Most successful people know about the importance of seeking and accepting help. They achieve their goals by leveraging other people’s skills, strengths or contacts that they themselves lack. At the same time they offer their help to others and extend their circle of valuable relationships.
Seeing Setbacks as Opportunities for Progression -Most successful people will tell you that they have had their share of setbacks. What sets them apart is that they accept setbacks as a natural phenomenon and have the ability to stay focused on their long term goals. Setbacks are often accompanied by opportunities and it is key that you continue to look for these opportunities while you experience setbacks.
True technopreneur are resourceful, passionate and driven to succeed and improve. They're pioneers and are comfortable fighting on the frontline The great ones are ready to be laughed at and criticized in the beginning because they can see their path ahead and are too busy working towards their dream.
There are many terms that we need to be familiar with. One of the key words is, creativity. Creativity is breaking the conventional mental blocks and playing with imagination and possibilities, leading to new and meaningful connections and outcomes while interacting with ideas, people and the environment.
All the qualities that shown above is difficult to achieve, but I want to become a successful business man. I know that it is very hard to accomplished that. And I'm still a student now. But who knows I will be the Steve Job today. And my course right now is easy to deal with business specially in technology matters. And I have to set my goals now and my vision in life. But for now, I have to enjoy what I have right now. And I know that I'll be a good in business and prove my self-confidence.

3.Would you take the same career path that Steve Jobs took? Why or why not?
Yes! To have a successful company. To be a good leader. To be a big boss of my own company. We all know that Steve Jobs work very hard for his company. But despite of being a boss of his company, I don't like the way he treated his employees in the company. He is an abusive employer and I don't like him because he is arrogant. But I love the way he managed his company. He will take all the risks. Jobs was more interested in creating a cult than a business machine. He built respective companies from small businesses into international powerhouses.
Jobs is a flake, a primal screamer, a drug user, a hippie. It seems inevitable that a guy who spent so much time meditating should eventually self destruct . . . maybe if he spent that time productively his company might have accomplished something.
He has a great ability to get others excited about fulfilling a vision. He generates far more press by keeping secrets than revealing them.
Steven Paul (Steve) Jobs was responsible for building Apple Computer twice, as well as for rescuing Pixar Animation Studios and turning it into one of the world's most successful motion picture studios. He also built NeXT, a good idea that did not catch on. He was a hands-on manager, who studied even the minutest details of his products, with the heart and eye of an artist. His insistence on high-quality, good-looking products struck a chord with many people who appreciated the beauty of Apple products, resulting in such fabulous successes as the Macintosh computer and the iPod portable music system. These successes often reshaped how consumers viewed technology and also reshaped the technology itself. Steve Jobs and Microsoft's Bill Gates are the two people most often credited with the development of the mass-market personal computer, perhaps decades before it might otherwise have evolved.
It is not true that successful entrepreneurs are born that way; in fact, anyone can be a successful entrepreneur. However, there are some specific entrepreneurial traits a person must have to be successful in the field of business. Of course, entrepreneurship is not for everyone. But with these particular character traits, you can see if you really have what it takes to succeed in the highly-competitive, world of business.
Traits of a Successful Entrepreneur
Have you ever wondered why some entrepreneurs succeed and why some do not? Have you ever thought of the things that would make one the best entrepreneurs in a chosen field?
For the lucky some, owning a business might run on their veins but for the most who are just common people with a high desire to start a business of your own, then, careful evaluation and extra time on studying the nature and principles of entrepreneurship is a must. However, this doesn't mean that an individual who want to become an entrepreneur should have a thorough background on these nature and principles.
Whether you are conscious about it or not, success and failure always depend on the entrepreneur. You want to know what are those? Here are the traits of a successful entrepreneur:
Goal oriented
Whether short term or long term, successful entrepreneur never misses to set his goal.
This trait can be developed at a very young age. For instance, a child set academic goals for himself or set a specific timeframe to achieve something. Say, for example, the child's parents cannot afford to buy him a toy he wanted. He will try to get this toy by saving money or making money for himself. When he grows up, he carries this trait in doing business. This same child is more likely to become successful for he knows how to get certain things he wants to.
But it does not stop there, successful entrepreneur knows how to revise or rewrite his goals whenever he thinks that there is something that needs to be changed.
Opportunity seeker
An entrepreneur knows how to search for opportunities. It may be an opportunity to earn more or to learn further. He will not settle on the things that exist around him. He knows how to find opportunities that may not be visible for most people.
Taking advantage of these opportunities
Once he has found opportunities, he knows how to take advantage of them. But it does not mean that he will become impulsive for he knows how to identify what type of opportunity will give him benefits. He will ask himself these questions: Will it bring more good than harm? Is it worth the time and money? Will it be able to help me reach my set goals?
A successful entrepreneur does not settle for the second best. He always finds ways how to be the best in his craft. With the help of his recognition of his strengths and weaknesses, he will achieve what others might not achieve. He has a certain attention to detail and quality. He would as much as possible treat all costumers the same.
Enjoys what he does and knows how to enjoy as well
A successful entrepreneur loves his work and enjoys what he is doing. He would not be successful if he does not enjoy his business. On the other hand, he does not make his business his life. He knows how to rest once in a while to enjoy life itself.
Knows when to get help
A successful entrepreneur recognizes that he could not do some things alone. He knows that he needs a hand in order to get things right. He knows and respects other's view on matters regarding his business. They do this to minimize the risk of committing mistakes. He knows what are the type of person that is right for the job.
Another good trait of a successful entrepreneur is knowing his strengths and weaknesses. This type of trait will enable him to define his limits and knows how to extend his limits. He knows the borderlines but knows how to keep the borderlines expanding. An individual who does not know his strengths and weaknesses is like a person facing a mirror without clearly seeing his face. A successful entrepreneur sees his face clearly on the mirror and recognizes his imperfection.
